My dear Lamperi
Here is my good news for you about the sensational success of my opera last night at the Carcano. I'll say nothing about the music, which you'll see for yourself in print, but simply assure you that those two angels Rubini and Pasta drove everyone nearly mad with enthusiasm, and De Angelis will be able to tell you what modesty prevents me from saying myself. - I was at his home just the other day and he introduced me to his entire family, whom I found extremely kind and gracious. I await receipt of the flacc from you so that I can pay you the entire amount.
Please remember me fondly, and rest assured that none of the honors I receive will ever cause me to forget my friends and especially your distinguished colleagues. Farewell
your
Bellini
My respects to your wife, and salutations to Grosson and his family and all of our friends, particularly Cossato
